John D. Ray is an associate with the firm. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on July 19, 1968. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern State University in 1993 and received his Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in 1997. In college, John was a member of Psi Chi National Honor Society. After law school John served as a law clerk to the Honorable B. Dexter Ryland in the Ninth Judicial District Court of Louisiana. He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and before the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a Certified Civil Mediator.

John is a former mediator for the Louisiana Department of Labor, Office of Workers' Compensation and a former Assistant Attorney General for the Louisiana Department of Justice, where he was served in its Litigation Division.
John has been a speaker at several continuing legal education seminars. He is currently a vice-chair of the Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Law Committee of the American Bar Association; The Louisiana Workers' Compensation Reform Coalition serving on the technical committee; Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel; Louisiana State Bar Association; New Orleans Bar Association; Baton Rouge Bar Association; Federal Bar Association; and The Bar Association of the Fifth Circuit.
